A laptop (short for laptop computer) is a portable personal computer designed for convenient use on your lap or on a flat surface such as a desk or table. Unlike traditional desktop computers that require separate components, a laptop integrates all essential hardware into a single, compact unit, making it easy to carry and use anywhere.
A typical laptop includes a built-in display screen, a physical keyboard, and a trackpad or touchpad that functions as a mouse. Internally, it contains a processor (CPU) that handles all computing tasks, memory (RAM) for multitasking and smooth performance, and storage (such as SSD or HDD) to save the operating system, software, and user files. Laptops also come with a rechargeable battery, allowing them to operate without being plugged into a power source for several hours.
